A later work from Mouse’s studio practice, Easy Rider moves beyond the poster into open narrative. The figure—skeletal, animated, and self-contained—draws from a longer arc of American counterculture imagery, rooted in motion, music, and independence.
Here the image expands. The still, symbolic language of earlier work gives way to rhythm and gesture; the cure of the body, the circular field, the at of playing.
In carving and painting this piece, the process shifts. Structure gives way to movement. The surface opens, and color carries part of the form.
Within The Eleven Collection, Easy Rider marks a turning point—where the work moves from the image as icon to image as action.
