ROY Flying Eyeball

The concept of flying eyeballs was well established in the psychedelic art era through Griffin’s work, often seen as background details. The intricacies of the famous original were left behind for more simple forms which I adapted for these wood sculptures. The colors of the rainbow, the acronym ROY G BIV set the painting course for these two flying eyeballs. ROY equals red, orange and yellow. BIV equals blue, indigo and violet. How they appear side by side is a testament to how rainbows are so inherently beautiful.
